Gender

So female or unknown... Write belief and reasons here. --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 21:17, 16 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

There are over a dozen scans referring to her as a female
Space Pirate Data:
Plus you have all of the scans the Samus does of Dark Samus in battle referring to Dark Samus as a female. Metroidking 21:41, 16 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That seems most reasonable to me, which is why I reverted it. If there is any logical explanation to change it to Unknown, do not change it and discuss it here instead. --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 21:51, 16 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Listen, the Space Pirates THOUGHT she was a female because of her look, I don't think space pirates check the plumbing on there enemys. Also the official scans of Dark Samus don't refer to it as a girl, but unknown, remember, its a metroid human hybrid so its not truly known if Dark Samus is a girl.

Actually it's pretty odd. I dug into some Echoes scans and found that some scans refer to Dark Samus as it and other scans refer to Dark Samus as She. So Nintendo just likes pissin fans off lol. Lets ask Yahoo for some opinion first, since more ppl will probably see it :D --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 05:14, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Which scans? Anatomically thebestmetroidfan does have a point, but genetically it is female. Metroidking 05:25, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Are you talking about the scans in Agon that don't get added to the logbook?Metroidking 05:30, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
So the guys on yahoo 3:0 said female. But 2 didn't give reason. The last one linked me to Wikitroid lol. So I went to Wikitroid and it seems they had the same problem. And the scans are on Wikitroid's Dark Samus Page. Dang I wish we had all the scans. The most recent, Corruption scan refers to her as "herself", and recent is always on top I would say. Oh and to sign use four tildes thebestmetroidfan --> ~~~~ --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 05:36, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Don't worry about the scans, I've fired up my gamecube and restarted Echoes, it'll take me a day or so but I'll compile a list of everything referring to Dark Samus. Someone that has Corruption can provide the scans for that game without copying it from Wikitroid. Metroidking 05:48, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oooh, did it have dust on it? I'll add that to my To-Do :) I really want to stray far away from copying Wikitroid or any other site.
No, I use it every couple days. Which scans where you referring to in Echoes that said she was an it? Metroidking 06:26, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I think it's when you fight her/it at the end. There are four possible scans of her/it. Dark Samus on Wikitroid. The newest scan of her, Corruption's scan, refers to Dark Samus as female, so I would argue that is most correct --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 15:19, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

your right, I was just playing echoes and it said "herself" man I need to have better memory...lol. Sorry for any trouble I gave anyone. -thebestmetroidfan

It's all right, that's what these talk pages are for, discussing. --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 15:55, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
In the first scan the word it is referring to the Phazon shield "Phazon energy shield repels all weapons. Wait until it is down to attack", the scan when you fight her at the end of Echoes the word itself is referring to blasts of Phazon "she can generate a shield that is invulnerable to all attacks, save one -- blasts of Phazon energy itself". Metroidking 18:02, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Oh dang you're right, I misread it. So I guess they meant for Dark Samus to be female. So that's how it shall be. --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 18:11, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Tense

OK I am about to add more information about Dark Samus in Echoes, but I am wondering one thing. Does the information about Dark Samus before Samus's arrival on Aether have to be put into present tense? Metroidking 18:50, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

It really depends on how you want to present the info. If you want to write as if it already happened, write it in the past tense. If you want to make it active, as if it was happening this very second, write it in present tense. I think it would be better to write in past tense though. --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 19:03, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That was what I was thinking, I just wanted to run it by someone else first before I began putting it in past tense. Metroidking 19:07, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That's cool. Quality Standards says you can use past tense when a situation demands it, so it's okay to use, but it's standard to use present tense. --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 19:13, 17 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
