== the next generation of Google Maps will support customization features ==
According to foreign media reports, Google Maps designer recently participated Roadmap 2013 General Assembly, said that the next generation of Google Maps will support customization features, the map can be the specific needs of the user's location and display personalized map interface.
Google user experience designer Jonah Jones (Jonah Jones) said that the existing paper maps and information digitization has been basically achieved, enabling them to facilitate networking and mobile devices; therefore map designers will be able to add more and more detail, based on the user's location and other signals experience customized map.
"Combining location and other data we have, we can actually aim for each one or each location to develop a new map - a specific map has never been seen, but also will not appear again, as it generates only serve the purpose of this time, "Jones said.
Google Maps product manager Bernhard Huddersfield ([[asus f3f lcd inverter]][[http://www.sellpartlist.co.uk/asus-f3f-laptop-lcd-inverter-vwtp.html]]) pointed out that in some cases, Google can even know what your needs without having to show you a map - for example, it will know you're in the airport, so it can automatically Flight time to show you, without you having to search. He said that your position is virtually search request.
Google Maps for two senior designer also said that Google is trying to join in its map service as much knowledge. Soon all will map each one for a specific person and specific locations for customization, "It's more about your situation where it will be more helpful."...

IPs editing?

For the longest time, the main page has said that this is a Metroid wiki that "anyone can edit." But everytime I've tried to edit as an IP, it says only users can edit. One of these two things should be changed. JamesHeart123 (talk) 04:18, 4 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

IPs used to be able to edit but spambots can become unbearable. I liked it better when IPs could edit as well. I can't change whether or not IPs can edit but i can change the text, what should I change it to? Nothing comes to mind, maybe we can redirect it to the log in screen --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 05:03, 4 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Anyone still can edit. Anyone can make an account. It's free and easy, and saying "Anyone with an account can edit" sounds pretty bumbling to me. I know it would be better if IPs could still edit, but the spam is unbearable. Saying anyone can edit is not misleading. Sorry if I'm coming across a little bit unsympathetic, but how hard is it to make an account? =\ I think the redirect idea is great. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 23:38, 4 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I support allowing IPs to edit, however every single time we've allowed it, spam spikes up which leads to us forbidding it again. I really hate having to forbid it again and again due to a few spammers ruining it for everyone. I think we could try allowing it again, if the spam stays at a tolerable level or nonexistent we can leave it be. MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 03:14, 5 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
We could add as many filters and blocks as we can find for spam, but it always seems to find a way. I'm team IP! --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 11:08, 5 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
StrategyWiki doesn't get hit too badly with spam. I'd suggest taking a look at some of those blacklists and copy them here. If you're ready to have IP editing re-enabled, leave a message on my talk page (or skype) and I'll take care of it. -- Prod (talk) 03:12, 6 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I've reenabled it for the time being, hopefully spam will be low :). MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 23:34, 8 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Donut Plains

I've noticed that our affiliate Donut Plains has gone offline and the domain registration has expire, has anyone heard from them concerning this? MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 03:19, 5 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I was the one that responded to them but I lost the email I used a long time ago. It was a small website, so I'm assuming it just went offline. Also, nice to see you around :D --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 11:08, 5 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I saved the email address but unfortunately it is a @donutplains.net address. With it offline, it don't think we have any way to get into contact with them :( I'll try to . and nice to see you too :).MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 01:22, 6 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Just checked on Archive.com. seems they've been out of commission for almost a year now , I'll remove them from the sidebar and main page template. MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 01:41, 6 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Random Tabbed Templates?

Just a thought: We currently use a Tabbed Template for our Featured Articles and Featured Pictures. The latest Tabs are toggled to display by default. Is there a way to set the default displayed Tab to be a random tab? I'm getting a little sick of seeing Quadraxis down there everyday. =\ We get the best of both worlds that way: a random feature on the page per visit, and the ability to toggle through features. Thoughts on pros/cons of this idea and plausibility? Embyr 75  --Talk-- 00:34, 25 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Editor Station

Until we implement a permanent solution for the Remember Me? section (as currently being discussed at the Discussion Center), I want to suggest turning that area into, basically, a "To-Do List" with links to important categories, like Stubs, Inadequate Images, Articles Lacking Images, etc. It'd be a place to make editors aware of current projects and give them access to things that need doing on the front page. If no one objects I'll throw something together in the next couple days. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 05:07, 2 September 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Not a bad idea, sounds good to me. MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 15:25, 2 September 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I created something and threw it up there, but I don't know how to create a new class so that I can have a semi-transparent image behind the content like the other boxes do. I was thinking of either this mp2 one or this Chozo one, or we could upload an entirely new image. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 00:59, 3 September 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
