The Thermal Visor is the second Visor upgrade in Metroid Prime. It is found in the Space Pirate Research Lab in Phendrana Drifts and is used to see levels of heat. After it is obtained, the power in the Lab goes out and Samus must use the visor to see in the darkness of the facility. It can see Shadow Pirates and is required to defeat the boss Thardus of the Quarantine Cave and the Metroid Prime itself.
