The PED Suit/Hazard Shield and Damage Reduction[edit source]

When I tested out the PED Suit and Hazard Shield in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, I did not notice any damage reduction. Metroid Fan 19:43, 7 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

You're probably right, and it makes sense considering that the Hazard Shield's shine only appears with environmental hazards and not when attacked in general. Though those Pirates with the Hazard Shields do get a shield. So Samus doesn't get the damage reduction but Pirates do it seems. --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 19:58, 7 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Well, I don't think it's because the Hazard Shield shines when it's in an environmental hazard. In Metroid: Other M, for example, the Gravity Feature, although the "aura" appears when Samus enters water or any altered gravity area, it still has the 75% damage reduction when she's not in these areas.

Perhaps the idea of damage reduction came from Samus' notes. It says something about more defense, but I think this is only referring to protection from the acid rain and Fuel Gel. It seems that after Metroid Prime, Retro Studios stopped giving Samus some kind of defense from damage and instead completely nullified environmental damage. They probably didn't want to give any more defenses, which is alright considering Hypermode pretty much gives you the best defense possible lol. But yeah, alright, I'll put that in the article --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 01:59, 8 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
