Sentry Drones are Mechanoids used for protection of Space Pirate bases. These drones are capable of firing sustained energy beams and are also armed with cannons that are used to rapidly fire bursts of projectiles. When alerted to the presence of intruders, Sentry Drones lock down the area preventing escape until either they or the intruders are destroyed. Defensively, they can scramble electronic signals such as Samus's visors.^[1]^[2]

Like many Mechanoids, Sentry Drones are highly vulnerable to electrical based attacks, such as the Wave Beam. Multiple uncharged blasts from the Wave Beam can quickly destroy them while a charged blast renders the drone immobile.

The Space Pirates have also developed two known variations of the Sentry Drone. For underwater activity, Aqua Drones were built. A more powerful Cloaked Sentry Drone was also built, however only a single one is encounter in the Central Dynamo of the Phazon Mines, where it defends the Power Bomb upgrade.
