Corrupted Sentreyes are Luminoth-built machines originally used to protect their encampments on Dark Aether but have since become possessed by the Ing. They fire a continuous beam of energy whenever they detect an enemy, similar to the Eyons on Tallon IV. Like the Eyons, they will cover themselves when hit beam a beam weapon and can be destroyed with a hit from the Charge Beam.[1]

Trivia
- While the Logbook entry states that they can only be destroyed with a charged shot from the Light Beam, any charged beam weapon can destroy them as well as a hit from the Screw Attack.

Many still remain throughout Dark Aether, now serving the Ing as they served the Luminoth before them. Most weapon types will stun the Sentreyes. Only charged light energy will destroy them." — Logbook "Corrupted Sentreye" (Metroid Prime 2: Echoes)
