Dark War Wasps are War Wasps possessed by young Ing, if they prove themselves they may take deadlier creatures. They are more dangerous than their light counterparts and, like other War Wasps, they attack in swarms. Samus encounters them in the Temple Grounds and in the Ing Hive.
