The Galactic Federation is an intergalactic alliance in war with the Space Pirates. In the year 2000 of the history of the cosmos, representatives from the many different planets in the galaxy established a congress called the Galactic Federation, and an age of prosperity began. A successful exchange of cultures and civilization resulted, and thousands of interstellar spaceships ferried back and forth between planets, but Space Pirates also appeared to attack the spaceships.
The Federation Bureau created the Galactic Federation Police, but the attacks of the Space Pirates were strong, and it was difficult to catch them in the vastness of space. To counter the attacks of the Space Pirates, the Galactic Federation called together courageous warriors, granting them large bounties for capture of Space Pirates. These space bounty hunters became known as "space hunters".
The Federation has a powerful military force. Samus Aran also did her time working in the Marines section.
Trooper Classes
Federation Marine
A Federation Marine is any combat troop in the Galactic Federation Marine Corps., or GFMC for short. The Fedaration Marine's debuted in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes in cutscenes and as dead bodies. There are specialized troops in the GMFC, such as a PED Trooper.
PED Trooper
In Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, a new type of Galactic Federation suit was introduced, called the Phazon Enhancement Device Suit, or PED for short. The PED Suit consisted of a pack filled with liquid Phazon carried on the troopers' backs. When activated, the PED would send Phazon to the suit's weapons, greatly increasing their offensive power.
The federation also integrated a PED into Samus Aran's Varia Suit. Unlike the standard PED, this device was not powered by a Phazon backpack. Instead, this model drew power from the Phazon infection inside Samus's body. Rundas, Ghor, and Gandrayda were equipped with similar devices.
