Rodney Aran is Samus Aran's father. He is the leader of an Earth colony on the planet K-2L. His only active appearance has been in the Metroid Manga.
Metroid Manga
In the 2002 Metroid Manga, Rodney Aran appeared only in the early stages. After the Space Pirates attacked under the command of Ridley, Rodney died protecting the planet's Afloraltite from Space Pirate use. Aran ignited the Afloraltite causing a large explosion that destroyed most of the Space Pirates and severely damaged Ridley, but killed himself and other humans as well.
