A White Hatch[1] is a door created by the Luminoth that requires light energy to be opened.[2] Like a regular door, it grants Samus access to the next room once it is opened, but must be reopened with the Light Beam after it closes if she wishes to pass through again.

A similar door that can be opened with the Ice Beam, called a White Door, is found on Tallon IV.
