The X-Parasites, or simply X, are the species of parasitic organisms fought by Samus in the B.S.L. Research Station in Metroid Fusion. They invade a host body and absorb the DNA, then multiply and kill the host. The only natural enemy of the X is the Metroid.
X on SR-388
The X, native of planet SR388, were hunted to near-extinction by the Metroids, which were created for the purpose of eliminating the X. With the extermination of the Metroids on SR-388 by Samus in Metroid II: Return of Samus, the X began to thrive again, infecting, killing, and mimicking the various life forms of SR388.
