History

Meta Ridley is one transformed version of the dragon-like creature, Ridley. After the events of Metroid, Ridley was revived as a mechanical counterpart, Meta Ridley. The Space Pirates resuscitated his mortally damaged body, enhancing him with mechanical infusions and an array of weapons systems, including a missile system, plasma cannon, and plasma bombs. Meta Ridley was then to go to the Frigate Orpheon to finish repairs, at least, until disaster struck.

Meta Ridley in Metroid Prime

Meta Ridley was completing his final upgrades in Frigate Orpheon, that is until 2 out of 3 Parasite Queens busted out of their containment module's and began to ravage Frigate Orpheon apart. As Samus Aran kills the final Parasite Queen, Samus encounters Meta Ridley. Meta Ridley quickly escapes the deteriorating Frigate Orpheon and Samus follows. Meta Ridley was not seen until Samus first visits the Phendrana Drifts, where he was seen heading towards Phazon Mines. After Samus obtains all 12 Chozo Artifacts and is about to enter the Impact Crater, Meta Ridley attacks. Samus defeats him and Meta Ridley is assumed dead after a direct hit by a laser beam (from the Artifact Temple statues) and a fall off a cliff.

Meta Ridley in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Meta Ridley was revived after that fall and was re-equipped with the same systems and given Phazite Armor. Meta Ridley was seen attacking Norion and was first seen attacking a platoon of Galactic Federation Marines. Next Samus had to face him while in Morph Ball and used Bombs to shake him off. Then she had to go to Generator C where Meta Ridley attacked. They engaged in an epic free fall battle. Samus defeated him and he fell to his death but was revived as Omega Ridley.
