Puffers are hovering, gas-filled organisms found on Tallon IV in Metroid Prime. They are mentioned to inhabit the Pirate Homeworld in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
Info[edit | edit source]
Puffers are aggressive hunters filled with Meta-viprium, a lethal gas, which they use to float about in search of food. Their bodies are fragile and will rupture upon contact. If their fragile bodies are ruptured, the gas within them will violently release, killing the Puffer and fatally poisoning any creature that attacked it.[1]
Puffers are native to the Pirate Homeworld, though Space Pirates have cybergenetically modified them into patrol animals filled with Phazon Gas called Puffer Mines.[2]
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
Samus encounters them in Magmoor Caverns and in the Phazon Mines. They are usually encountered in groups and avoid contact with each other, though will seek out Samus and damage her with their meta-viprium gas.
