A bounty hunter in the Metroid series is a space-oriented mercenary ready to be hired for firepower. The series' main character, Samus Aran, is the most known of the bounty hunters. Bounty hunters are probably based off of real life bounty hunters or mercenaries. Bounty hunters are extravagantly expensive, as noted by Adam Malkovich in the Metroid manga. Bounty hunters in the Metroid series tend to take a side on the Galactic side against the Space Pirates or the exact opposite. Many notable bounty hunters, such as Weavel, easily found their way onto the obvious Metroid Prime Hunters.
