Crateria is the name given to the outermost surface area of the planet Zebes. Crateria appears in Super Metroid as the first area to be scouted by Samus. The area itself is a seemingly inhospitable one, constantly barraged by meteors and acid rain, only giving refuge, via sparse caverns, leading deep into the planet's core. In Super Metroid, the entire area of Wrecked Ship divides Crateria into two parts, while also serving as the initial entrance into Maridia. In Metroid: Zero Mission, Crateria can only be initially accessed via Norfair, despite landing there at the beginning of the game. Crateria can later be accessed through Brinstar and Chozodia once Power Bombs have been obtained. The Power Grip is obtained here.
