Crawltanks are Space Pirate battle drones used for ground combat.[1] They resemble spider-like tanks that are about the size of Samus's Morph Ball. They are simple enemies that fire beams and can be destroyed with three simple hits from the Power Beam, two from the Plasma Beam, or one from the Nova Beam. The tanks can enter Hypermode and deal slightly more damage, but are still a simple enemy.[1]

Crawlmines are smaller versions of Crawltanks that only appear in the G.F.S. Olympus and some parts of the Pirate Homeworld. They only cause minimal damage when they come in contact with Samus in a suicide strike.[2] They are meant to patrol small areas such as ventilation shafts and maintenance tunnels in dangerously large numbers.[2]
