The Phazon Enhancement Device, abbreviated PED, is a type of technology developed by the Galactic Federation. This suit enables an individual to harness the destructive power of Phazon for use in battle. The PED was most notably used by the Bounty Hunters Samus Aran, Ghor, Rundas, and Gandrayda in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Several other Galactic Federation marines are also in PED Suits. Normally, A PED suit draws energy from Phazon stored in a backpack, however; Samus's and the other Bounty Hunters' PED Suits draw energy from the Phazon stored inside of their respective bodies. The PED suit also alters the Morph Ball appearance to a blue form. Its only known appearance is in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. The PED mode is highly dangerous; prolonged use can ultimately lead to total corruption. The PED suit also reduces damage inflicted on Samus.
