Template:Enemy-infobox Plated Beetles are larger, armored variants of Beetles. Like Beetles and Ice Beetles, Plated Beetles attack by ramming. Although the armored body is resistant to most weapons, the Plated Beetle's abdomen is vulnerable to attack. Samus's first encounter with a Plated Beetle is shortly before acquiring the Morph Ball. She is first attacked by a large group of Beetles followed by a Plated Beetle. Plated Beetles become more common after Samus defeats Flaaghra.
