The Spin Jump is a technique used by Samus Aran in every two dimensional game and Metroid: Other M. The jump is automatically activated when Samus jumps in any direction but straight up. Samus spins in the air, allowing further distance per jump. This type of jump is necessary for the Space Jump, Screw Attack, and Wall Jump.
Trivia
- While this does not appear in first person, while in the multiplayer for Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, when a player utilizes the Space Jump, they spin as if using the classic spin jump.
