Somewhat strangely, there is no information either in-game or related media in regards to the species the [[X Parasite]] is mimicking when in this form, apart from the assumed name ''Zazabi''. It is possible that it is a conglomeration of several species custom built by the X, as seen exhibited in [[Aqua Pirate|Aqua Pirates]], but there is little knowledge as to which creatures may be combined.
As Samus damages Zazabi, parts of it will be destroyed, causing it to partially collapse. After destroying all the middle segments and critically damaging the head, Samus reveals Zazabi's [[Core-X]]. It consists of a head with several appendages, several small sections of body formed into rings, and a suction cup with several sharp teeth at its bottom.
