Gel Rays are creatures that thrive in Fuel Gel, which is abundant on the planet Bryyo. Because of this, they only appear in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. They are elusive creatures that are difficult to destroy and scan by Samus since they only appear out of Fuel Gel for seconds at a time to feed.[1] Gel Rays are based off of manta rays.
