Hey[edit source]

Hey, for that Dark Samus edit, this is an informative website. We're not writing a suspense novel here lol, keep edits at the formal level please. --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 19:16, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

to malake since for some reason I can't seem to reply on you page[edit source]

dude, I spent an hour making that section, I turned it from a little stub to the large paragraphs you see today. I don't need you telling me what or what not is right or wrong in that section.

"Please note that all contributions to Metroid Wiki are considered to be released under the GNU Free Documentation License 1.2 (see Metroid Wiki:Copyrights for details). If you do not want your writing to be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will, then do not submit it here."

-That pretty much sums it up. It's right under the edit box --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 20:08, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

yeah well I just wanted to share my knowledge with the world.

This is Metroid Wiki, not FML. All we need to do is share knowledge of the series with the rest of the world. Can't we all just get that? - ZeldaMan (PostboxStatus) 20:31, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Read this page[edit source]

Quality Standards-Article Style then you can understand what I was talking about. I'm not trying to delete or overhaul your work, I just want to reach a consistent, informative MetroidWiki --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 01:18, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

ok, you win, i'll change it to something less dramatic.

fixed

Thank you, really appreciate it. I'm sorry for all the fuss about this.

so malake, you on youtube?

Um....I am, sort of. TheSuperZeldaMan. - ZeldaMan (PostboxStatus) 21:17, 30 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Haha no, I guess this guy is. I have an account and I decided to upload game videos once, but I never got around to it. So my hobby is pretty much this site now haha --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 02:58, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

lol ok then, so um zelda, what do you mean by "sort of"?

weapons[edit source]

some day we need to create all the weapons pages from the metroid series.

Editing Procedures[edit source]

Hey, MetroidFan! I've been patrolling your edits, and I've seen some things that I want to point out. For starters, you seem to be creating links in the middle of words, an example being Space Pirate's. This causes confusion, indirect links, and overall messiness. What you can do is, when creating links, use [[Linked article|Differentation of word]. This will make the text what is on the right, and the link what is on the left, not visible by the reader. An example of this is [[Phaaze|unknown planet], or most commonly, [[Samus Aran|Samus] (although we already have a template for that). Another thing I've seen is some basic grammar flaws, such as "stolen by Space Pirate's and they have used it to." Try to use more logic wording. Try not to use words like "a lot" and not to use abbreviations. And finally, if you make an edit that fixes a grammar problem or adds a sentence, please check the "This is a minor edit" box just above the "Save Page" icon. This just makes patrolling much easier. Thanks. - ZeldaMan (PostboxStatus) 22:51, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

my nickname is bmf, for future reference, also, if I make a grammer mistake its usually by accident, its some sort of brain trance thing and when I view it later it makes no sense, like how you read a paper that has mistakes but you don't see them but when you have some other dude look over it that person catches the mistakes and then it seems obvious, this is the same with other people, so thats probably why I make those small grammer mistakes -thebestmetroidfan

Well, when you look at the quality standards, you really need to work on this. - ZeldaMan (PostboxStatus) 01:00, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Alright, seriously dude, don't delete the talk page because you're too weak to take anything. This is a very serious matter, and even after I've briefed you in, you're still making extremely important articles about two sentences long with heavily terrible mistakes. I've been patrolling your edits and slightly changing them, waiting for when I have free time to revert them completely. Please just try to cooperate on this non-personal, serous wiki. - ZeldaMan (PostboxStatus) 01:13, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

first of all, don't call me weak. Next, I just felt my talk page needed to be cleaned up, I already read what you said and am perfecting myself just like you said, I am sorry you felt that I was trying to brush this aside, so please don't call me weak -thebestmetroidfan

Disregarding my rude comment, you just said you're "perfecting yourself." Take a look at Darkling, dude. - ZeldaMan (PostboxStatus) 01:21, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

just remeber what I said with the whole mind trick thing. ~thebestmetroidfan

I know, I know, its short. I just really don't have that much time on my hands if you didn't know that, I have a youtube account to maintain including a facebook, and a twitter. Also I have no idea how to add images, I even said it was a stub, acknowedging that its not that long. So please understand I am a busy person. -thebestmetroidfan

I understand, but if you have no clue how to perform such a simple task as uploading images, then I suggest you get some help from a leader. - ZeldaMan (PostboxStatus) 01:26, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

i'm not the only one, malake hasn't been uploading images at all from what i've seen on my watchlist, i'm just saying though. Besides I know how to learn to upload images, I just haven't learned yet, if your wondering how I do this, I do this by clicking edit on a page with a photo which shows me the command for how to upload a photo. Oh and btw, I enhanced darkling -thebestmetroidfan

That.....does pretty much nothing to help. You have to actually upload the image first. And Si suggest you don't put down the top editor on the site. - ZeldaMan (PostboxStatus) 01:32, 22 June 2010

yeah...I discovered that when I saw the command, also i'm not putting down anyone. -thebestmetroidfan

Ok. I'm done with this, I have to continue patrolling and creating decent articles. - ZeldaMan (PostboxStatus) 01:38, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

my articles arn't that small but they give people the basic idea, i'm going to keep doing what i've been doing but with er...better details, so if your just going to leave at random, don't bring this up again -thebestmetroidfan

Please sign your name with four of the "~" symbol. - ZeldaMan (PostboxStatus) 01:44, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

fine, but just remember what I said with the whole mind trick thing, also don't insult me ever again please. thebestmetroidfan 01:53, 22 June 2010 (UTC)thebestmetroidfanReply[reply]

Vandalism[edit source]

Yeah, do NOT flame, not even vandals. Don't even bother talking to vandals. That vandal has been taking care of and all damage he has done has been deleted. Vandalism can be taken care of easily, so DON'T post any messages on their talk pages or userpages. Also, for future reference, if a vandal strikes, don't edit over any of their vandalism. Leave it alone and notify the Staff and we will take care of it. --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 19:54, 26 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

ok but I didn't edit anything, also I never knew you were part of the actual metroid wiki staff, you learn something new every day, lol. thebestmetroidfan 19:58, 26 June 2010 (UTC)thebestmetroidfanReply[reply]

I've been Patrol for about half a month, so it is pretty recent. And yeah, I know you didn't edit anything, I'm just saying that for future reference. To sum everything up though, if there is a vandal, notify the staff, leave everything alone, and pretend like it didn't happen. --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 20:27, 26 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

ok. thebestmetroidfan 21:06, 26 June 2010 (UTC)thebestmetroidfanReply[reply]

Space Pirates[edit source]

Myself and the other admins are doing a coordinated process to creating the Space Pirate articles listed on that template, so please do not create any of those articles. Also, do not use Wikitroid as a reference, no information should be pilfered from that website. Please do not create any Space Pirate articles, as this is also a process to thwart the vandal's efforts. If you would like to help, try adding information to stubs instead of creating new pages. --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 02:02, 30 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ok, also, can't you guys ban the vandals computer IP adress? Also I won't do what you mentioned again, both things btw. thebestmetroidfan 02:14, 30 June 2010 (UTC)thebestmetroidfanReply[reply]

Not even on this article?? And no, we can't do that yet. --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 02:17, 30 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I made that article BEFORE I saw your first post, and I even changed it to my words, didn't know that it was that similar to wikitroids...also I changed THAT in my own words to, BEFORE you told me not to, btw, so yeah i'm still keeping my word. thebestmetroidfan 02:24, 30 June 2010 (UTC)thebestmetroidfanReply[reply]

Impact Crater[edit source]

Please press the preview page button before you save your work, it will help you see your errors and allow you to fix them instead of saving over and over. It will also lower the amount of edits listed on the recent edits page. Metroidking 03:01, 30 June 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Space Pirate Articles[edit source]

If you want to check our progress with the Space Pirate articles, visit this page. The links that are in red symbolize the articles that we haven't finished yet. Please don't mess with the articles in red. - ZeldaMan (PostboxStatus) 04:52, 1 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

"Not Needed" Information[edit source]

I saw your edits on Torvus Bog, and want to tell you that on this site, there is no such thing as not-needed information. Please keep everything that is in the article intact. ZeldaMan (PostboxStatus) 22:51, 1 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

your wrong, if the information is already on the page, it does not need to be re stated, that is why it is not needed, I will change the article back to the way I left it now thebestmetroidfan 22:55, 1 July 2010 (UTC)thebestmetroidfanReply[reply]

it seems the article is still the same, do not re add the information that is already stated there please thebestmetroidfan 22:57, 1 July 2010 (UTC)thebestmetroidfanReply[reply]

The idea of an online encyclopedia is to add as much information as possible. Although it may not seem necessary to you, any random person searching online would want as much information as they can have on what they're looking for. So packing articles with as much information as possible is our goal, as long as this information isn't faulty or completely beyond the point. Torvus Bog though, has plenty to do with Dark Torvus Bog --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 23:19, 1 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

malake, its not that, its the fact that you don't list bosses twice, or upgrades, it doesn't make sense, that is unnesisary, i'm cool with the dark torvus bog thing. thebestmetroidfan 23:21, 1 July 2010 (UTC)thebestmetroidfanReply[reply]

Well on the infobox, the thing under the picture, it says bosses and upgrades, but inside the article you can elaborate on them. Say things like what the bosses do or what they look like. Or where the upgrades are, or what you need to get them. --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 23:24, 1 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

you have a good point with that, all I did was remove a list, only a list, didn't think it needed or could be upgraded, go ahead and add stuff, all i'm doing is the location and charecter infoboxes right now, and some small editing. thebestmetroidfan 23:26, 1 July 2010 (UTC)thebestmetroidfanReply[reply]

Well if you could fix any infoboxes, that'd be great. Just don't delete information that isn't completely messed up. --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 23:50, 1 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I meant for the normal section, every infobox I create is in top condition (unless there is no photo, then I can't add that) thebestmetroidfan 23:58, 1 July 2010 (UTC)thebestmetroidfanReply[reply]

Two things. Firstly, these admin guys know what they're on about bestmetroidfan, so you really should take what they say and apply it to your editing so that you can improve. Secondly, just sign your talk page comments with ~~~~; there's no reason to type your name after it. -Melchizedek  talk 00:40, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
first, i'm doing fine, second, thanks thebestmetroidfan 00:48, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thirdly, on talk pages you should indent your comments with a couple of ::::. Now back to the first point- it's not for you to judge whether or not you're doing fine as an editor. To put it plainly, you have a long way to go and a lot to learn before you are anywhere near 'doing fine'. In the meantime, if you ever want to reach that stage, you should be paying more attention to everything these guys have said on your talk page. -Melchizedek  talk 00:53, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

i'm still in control of my actions, i'm just going to stay on here and continue doing what i'm doing, editing. thebestmetroidfan 01:01, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I'm gonna have to redirect your attention to the third point again, and then add a fourth point: always add new comments at the bottom of the section. Yes you are in control of your actions, which is why they're the way they are. If you are truly intending to stick around here and keep editing, then you need to make drastic improvements - to be useful and not a nuisance. If you're planning on doing this, let's get one thing out of the way. We don't tolerate flaming and lying here at Metroid Wiki, and due to that I have significant grounds to ban you. Namely, you should remember this: go die for messing up this wiki, we don't need metroid hating scum like you here. Your heart may be in the right place, but that's not acceptable. Why did you deny doing it? You do realize that the wiki software proves it was done through your account? -Melchizedek  talk 01:11, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I never denied what I said, I told malake yes I said that and we both moved on, besides, I have a youtube account to maintain to, i'm a busy person. thebestmetroidfan 01:20, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

This lack of colons and delayed post signing needs to be worked on. Nevertheless, 'ok but I didn't edit anything', I guess that isn't denying is it? Look, it's not my issue what's going on in your life or how many 'accounts' you have to manage. Because I run god knows how many websites, I completely understand how a couple of megre accounts can make you busy. Look, I'm going to make things easier for you, by taking away your worry of Metroid Wiki temporarily. That should give you some time to get organized. Because in the end, to us it's not about what other accounts you have elsewhere, it's about how you use this one. At this stage your attitude and regard of the staff has been unacceptable and many of your edits are not productive. This is why, effective immediately, I have decided to block you for a week. Sort yourself out, and if you choose to return afterward, please do so with a more mature mindframe, and a desire to improve your editing. Enjoy. -Melchizedek  talk 01:25, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Ban Expiry/Permaban[edit source]

Hey Thebestmetroidfan. Your week-long ban from Metroid Wiki has now expired and you are once again free to edit. I hope that in this week you have reflected upon your conduct and that you will be making a direct effort to improve your editing skills including: respecting staff and other members, not flaming and not copying content from Wikitroid or other similar wikis. We hope to see you learn from your mistakes and become a respected member of this community. The best place to start, is to listen to what the admins have had to say. Even seek them for advice. Happy editing. -Melchizedek  talk 22:35, 8 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]

"thebestmetroidfan stupid metroid wiki staff, banning me for 1 week for no reason (this happend 1 week ago btw) I never disrespected there staff, I only flamed a vandal, and I know my edits arn't the best but still...ugh, i'm saying the truth then i'm ditching that piece of crap wiki, I hope the website crashes and gets destroyed..."
You said it yourself. So bye bye. But before you go, have some truth: you can't ditch somewhere if you're kicked out first. Have fun living a life with that hope that will never become fruition. -Melchizedek  talk 01:44, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply[reply]
