This mysterious creature attacks the 7th Platoon after they evacuate the exam center in Sector 1 of the Bottle Ship. Samus fends the creature off by firing several Missiles at the beasts tail, eventually Anthony Higgs forces the creature into a retreat using his Plasma Gun. Adam later sends Samus to chase the creature in Sector 3, but she must leave before finding it. She later finds the discarded carcass of the creature in Sector 3.

The mysterious beast is actually one of the stages of Ridley's life-cycle, more specifically Stage 2.
