A Purple Door is a type of Door from the Metroid Prime series. They are the second-most common type of door in games where they are present, and require Samus' Wave Beam to open. They are commonly placed between passages in order to block unwarranted company.

In Metroid Prime, purple doors are the second type of door that Samus encounters. In Prime, purple doors require the wave beam to open, and therefore begin to appear during Samus' exploration of Phendrana Drifts. Unlike their more permissive counterparts the Blue Doors, purple doors are not commonly paired with Missile Door Locks.
