Capitalization
Working on door articles (I really should find more interesting things to do...), I've noticed that everything is capitalized. It's "Door" instead of "door" and "Blue Door" instead of "blue door." Is there some consensus regarding capitalization. Personally, it looks weird having everything capitalized. After cross-referencing the reference section of Wave Beam, it is the case that it is "Purple Door" instead of "purple door" in Metroid Prime, but even if that's the case, in terms of readability, it seems really jarring to have fourteen capitalized nouns in a sentence that might be thirty words long. It seems that Retro was rather... lenient with the capitalization, but some of these things (such as "Purple Door") aren't entirely... deserving of capitalization? &mdash; <span style="text-decoration:underline;color:#4B6B42;">Jyavoc</span> (<span style="color:#DF6742;">talk</span> &bull; <span style="color:#FBB754;">contrib</span>) 23:10, 12 March 2013 (UTC)

About the types of doors here...

There are two basic classifications of door: the kind that must be opened each time, classified as a door, such as a Blue Door, then you have one time Blast Shields, such as a Red Blast Shield from Echoes and Corruption, that is destroyed once, and then is gone forever. So we need to reflect this in our articles wherever we write this. The name organization comes from Corruption's Logbook, which classifies Beam doors as Doors, and Missile Doors and such as Blast Shields. The 2D games' doors are always opened by a certain type of weapon, but must be opened that way every time, making them doors, not blast shields. We should be using this standard in our articles. Great! Thanks for that info! On the other hand, in Echoes, the "White Hatches" (manual name) and "Purple Hatches" (also manual name) are actually referred to as "Blast Shields" in the game's scan data. So while I think your idea is probably a great candidate for organizing, you can see why there's a little controversy: the games aren't exactly consistent. So for the moment I've thrown a few examples on by Official Name. Can we open this topic up to a little more discussion? Opinions, please!!!
So far, we've got the Headers "Doors", "Hatches", and "Blast Shields", and initially I categorized items by name. We can chisel that down to "Doors" and "Blast Shields" using the info provided above from Corruption and categorize the items beneath by function. Any other options we should consider while we're here? Embyr 75  --Talk-- 18:45, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Skype consensus is to split this article into Door and Blast Shield, and list items there based on function, regardless of name discrepancies. Any objections? Embyr 75  --Talk-- 19:27, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I agree, and this makes sense and is consistent with the most recent official confirmation on this topic, so it seems to be a win-win situation here. Bop1996 (Talk | Unfinished projects) 20:02, 22 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
