Hello, Wookiee123, and welcome to Metroid Wiki! We're glad to have you here, and we hope you'll stay and contribute. Make sure you check out our help guides so you can learn the ropes and policies. Make sure you also check out the Discussion Center, our community hub page where you can talk with other editors. Most importantly, enjoy your time at Metroid Wiki. - The Metroid Wiki Staff

Few things

A few things about images, please don't use image templates like {{screenshot}}. We're in the process of replacing those with {{source}} (with those templates being on well over 1000 file pages, it takes some time). If you are having trouble filling out that source template, don't worry about it, just include some details like where you got it from and if it was edited or not in the file summary and we can handle the rest. Also try not to upload images with capitalized extensions (.JPG and such), if you forget to do this it only takes a second for another administrator or I to move it to a lower cased extension. Anyway thanks for your contributions so far and I hope you'll stick around. MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 21:59, 9 September 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Room edits

When you're adding images to room articles (which is very helpful btw; we have more articles missing images than stubs right now), would you please use the "Show preview" button next to the "Save page" button so you can get the image on the page in one edit? If you click save and then realize you missed something, which happens to all of us, please mark those edits fixing the mistake as "minor". Thanks for your time. When uploading images...

You can add the {{source}} template to images by adding that code (and any other code you want) to the edit summary as you upload the image. That way, you won't have to go back and add the {{source}} template manually after the image has been uploaded. This cuts down on unnecessary edits and keeps the RC pretty. =) Furthermore, adding additional parameters to the source template (such as |game=, |obtained=, etc, see Template:Source for more info) keeps the images nicely sourced and categorized. Hope that helps! Feel free to drop any questions on my talk page or the talk page of any Administrator. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 21:43, 29 September 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Hey there! Great job with your recent image uploads! They look awesome. =) Here's a little more info for your reference:
You can add which game the image you upload comes from and the type of image it is (usually a screenshot or artwork) by adding extra parameters to the {{source}} template. For example, if the image is a screenshot from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, you can add the following parameters:
{{source
|game = mp2
|type = ss
}}
Even better, if the shot came from a particular website, say, Youtube, you can add that, too, like this:
{{source
|game = mp2
|type = ss
|obtained = YT
|url = (add url to the video here!)
}}
Adding the site it came from is more for people's reference, but if you at least add the |game= and |type= parameters, it will categorize the image for you! So, if you use the first example (with the parameters |game = mp2 and |type = ss) the image will automatically be categorized under [[Category: Metroid Prime 2: Echoes Screenshots]]. Fancy, huh? =D Adding these parameters aren't imperative or anything, but it sure makes finding images easier! Keep up the great work!!! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 20:35, 7 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

More image suggestions

Hi there! Me again. =) I was wondering what your main source is for your images. Frankly, some of them are pretty pixelated, and while they're better than nothing, they'll have to be replaced as better images become available. May I ask if you're using Youtube to capture the images? If so, I'd like to recommend capturing images from walk-throughs by Capoland, who uploads many of his videos in HD. Loading the videos (or the section of the video containing the image you want) in 720p usually yields a crisper, brighter image. Regardless of what tools you have at your disposal, we appreciate any contribution you can make! =) See you around! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 19:46, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

MPH Rooms-nav

Since you're making a rooms-nav for Hunters, you're probably using a tabbed nav to set it up. If that's the case, if you have any coding questions with the tab template, I can help you with them, so don't hesitate to ask. Image source

The version of Charge Beam zm Manual Image.jpg you uploaded was from Metroid Recon correct? MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 19:39, 19 November 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Correct. The previous version of that image was the Long Beam (and the manual for the Charge Beam was for the Long Beam too). Wookiee123 19:49, 19 November 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Whoops. Thanks for fixing them. MKMetroid mf Sprite.gif 20:02, 19 November 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Echoes Rooms Articles

Multiple Edits

Hey Wookiee123! Thank you for your recent additions to Metroid Wiki! I noticed you've been making a lot of edits to the same page over a short time. Doing this puts a strain on our server and clogs up the recent changes. So instead of saving a lot, use the "show preview" button next to the "save page" button before you save. It'll allow you to view your edit for any mistakes so you don't have to make a lot of fixing edits or additional ones! Hope this helps! Embyr 75  --Talk-- 05:31, 15 March 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Re:Categories

Thanks for asking, but you can definitely go ahead and add them where they need to be added. It's a big job for one person. Galvartes 20:56, 4 April 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
