Question[edit source]

What sort of content needs to be on this page in terms of appearances in each game? Do we need a list of every room located on the other side of one? I suppose this can apply to other doors as well. Obviously, with other doors, we can talk about the means of opening them in different games, as some Red Doors take five Missiles to open, for example, but what is there to say when it's already mentioned that Blue Doors can be opened with anything? I would say that the Logbook entries for Prime 2 and 3 about Blue Doors illuminate this some, the authorization thingy from Fusion is pretty important as well, the other Prime games probably have enough. I only started an "Appearances" section because it appears in all games except Metroid II... The other doors have plenty of stuff, obviously. I think that we should cover this topic as in-depth as possible; it's an aspect of the game that some people might find interesting, and it's pretty necessary to know how to open doors to play Metroid games... I don't think that Blue Doors are unimportant; I was just at a loss as to what's supposed to be in this article. You've clarified things somewhat. Metroid4Ever 00:17, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Blue Doors are somewhat underrated. Anyway, non-Wikitroid images added, appropriate references, etc would make this a pretty good article, someone just has to get around to it... Bop1996 (Talk | Unfinished projects) 00:28, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Yep, and I don't think the prospect of writing about doors is exciting for anyone in particular. I suppose I could pitch when I'm not dealing with articles related to Other M. Metroid4Ever 00:35, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I can get to a Prime 2 and 3 section when I don't feel like writing a boss or room article. Playing through the games gives more info on those than it does on doors... Bop1996 (Talk | Unfinished projects) 00:54, 31 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Door and Doors[edit source]

Did we ever decide if there's gunna be one Door/Hatch page? Or are we keeping multiple ones? --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 02:07, 9 March 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Naturally I'm new here, so I don't know the details before, but if there is an infobox per each type of door/hatch, that would make the single page very long and hard to read. — Jyavoc (talkcontrib) 15:50, 9 March 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
That said, I answered my opinion on the Door/Blue Door debate; but if you were talking about Blue Door/Space Pirate Blue Door, that should be one page, imo. — Jyavoc (talkcontrib) 16:05, 9 March 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Well we started the Door article, but I was thinking we should probably revamp it to a gallery style so it looks less cluttered, like we're doing for the Luminoth Technology page. Conversely, a single page for all of them is also possible but it will be extremely lengthy. All of those comments also apply to the Blast Shield article. Thoughts? I like the idea of having a central hub for all of the doors (re: Door), but my personal opinion is that, when using infoboxes with item-specific information on them, unless those infoboxes are very short (see: gw2:Rune of Dwayna]), there should be only one per page. I think it makes perfect sense to have a place to be able to view all of the doors together/to put the basic information, but I think trying to fit all of the information we'd have on each type of door onto one page would be too much, and the formatting would look awful. And considering that number of pages isn't a limited resource, I see no reason why we shouldn't just go Oprah on doors ("you get a page, and you get a page; you all get pages!") — Jyavoc (talkcontrib) 16:22, 10 March 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
In general, we only use one infobox per page. I'll go ahead and convert our Door and Blast Shield pages to galleries now, unless someone objects. We can always revert it if we come up with a better idea. Embyr 75  --Talk-- 01:31, 12 March 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Looks neat! I like the No Image thing, haha, maybe I can make a template that would create the proper wanted file, so by clicking on the No Image thing it'll take you to a red-linked image file --Malake256 {Talk | Contribs} 21:05, 12 March 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
