Kinetic Orb Cannons are mechanisms that can launch the Morph Ball great distances at high velocity,[1] featured in Echoes and Corruption. The original purpose of the cannon is unclear, but it may have been designed for industrial use and later modified for use as a combat system.[2] Samus utilizes Kinetic Orb Cannons to sail over large distances or to shatter obstacles that can only be removed by heavy impact.[3] There are also Kinetic Orb Cannons in Torvus Bog constructed specifically for use underwater via tube systems.
The kinetic force resulting from using the cannon can also be used to eliminate enemies, including opponents in multiplayer mode.
