The Phazon Enhancement Device, abbreviated PED, is a type of technology developed by the Galactic Federation. This suit enables an individual to harness the destructive power of Phazon for use in battle. The Galactic Federation troopers currently use the PED suit to defeat raids of Space Pirates. The PED was most notably used by the Bounty Hunters Samus Aran, Ghor, Rundas, and Gandrayda in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

Normally, A PED suit draws energy from Phazon stored in a backpack, however; Samus's and the other Bounty Hunters' PED Suits draw energy from the Phazon stored inside of their respective bodies. The PED suit also alters the Morph Ball appearance to a blue form, similar to the bright blue color indicating the presence of Phazon or a Phaaze-like substance. Its only known appearance is in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. The PED mode is highly dangerous; prolonged use can ultimately lead to total corruption. The PED suit also reduces damage inflicted on Samus.
