The Phazon Enhancement Device, or P.E.D., was a type of technology developed by the Galactic Federation, to enable an individual to harness the destructive power of Phazon for use in battle. The P.E.D. was most notably used by Samus Aran, Ghor, Rundas, and Gandrayda in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and several Galactic Federation marines, in the form of the P.E.D. Suit. Normally, A P.E.D. suit draws energy from Phazon stored in a backpack, however; Samus's and the other Bounty Hunters' draw energy from the Phazon stored inside of their respective bodies. The PED suit also alters the Morph Ball appearence. Its only known appearence is in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. The PED mode is highly dangerous; prolonged use can ultimatley lead to total corruption. The PED suit also reduces damage inflicted on the player by apox. 25%.
