Gorea is a creature which attacked the Alimbics and ravaged the Tetra Galaxy. Based on Alimbic Lore, Gorea arrived on the planet through the use of a meteor, and left the meteor in a gaseous state, which allowed it to remain undetected. It then apparently mimiced the Alimbics and created some sort of cancer that began to kill every Alimbic. With the last of their strength, they sealed Gorea within the Oubliette, and used the Alimbic Cannon to place the ship in the Infinity Void. After a long time, Gorea manages to send a telepathic message that tells of an ultimate power. Samus Aran, along with other Bounty Hunters, come seeking this power. The hunters fight over the Octoliths, which power the cannon. Samus obtains them all and frees the Oubliette from the void. The other six hunters rush in ahead of her and unknowingly free Gorea. It absorbs each of their affinity weapons and tosses them aside. At this point, it is bound to the Seal Sphere, and is therefore restrained to its Alimbic form. Samus activates some sort of "spectral sequence" and proceeds to injure Gorea by using the Affinity Weapon opposite of the one Gorea was using. In the lower areas, Gorea has now completely absorbed the power from the Seal Sphere, and is now indestuctable to all of Samus's current weapons. She goes below and finds the powerful Omega Cannon which she uses to destroy Gorea once and for all.

Physiology

Gorea has no physical form.[1] Instead, it mimics the cellular structure and appearance of other organisms, similar to the X found in Metroid Fusion.
