Rezbit Virus
| ||||||||
|
Rezbit Virus is a digital virus from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It can be uploaded to Samus's Power Suit, briefly crippling its functionality until main power is restored. The virus is carried by rogue Rezbit patrol drones, which are equipped with a digital virus delivery system that can transmit the virus into mechanoids and armor systems.[1]
When the virus is uploaded into the Power Suit, its HUD Suite, Visor, and weaponry lose functionality. Once main power is restored, the suit initiates a system check which displays the status of her main computer, targeting system, Arm Cannon, armor, Morph Ball, HUD suite, Visors, Missile Launcher, and ammunition modules.[2]
The name of the virus is revealed in the game's unused textual data.[3]
In multiplayer mode, combatants can enter Hacker Mode, which can be used to disrupt an opponent's Power Suit functions in much the same way the Rezbit Virus does.

The Rezbit, though small, is a tough opponent. Its weapon system is potent, capable of firing bursts or beams at targets. A barrier shield blocks incoming attacks. It can also shift into an energy state to evade enemies; while in this state it can transmit a powerful virus into mechanoids and armor systems.
