NOTES:

  • In this particular timeline, the year 20X5 is estimated to be 2085, which would mark the centennial of Metroid's conception, but may also be 2045, 2055, 2065, 2075, or 2095. The rest of the timeline should adjust -40, -30, -20, -10, or +10 years for each of the other possible dates respectively. (Based on the rumor that Admiral Dane was orphaned by Space Pirates as a child (speculated: preteen). The Space Pirates did not appear until after the founding of the Galactic Federation, and Admiral Dane appears to be at least 50 years old in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption; therefore the year 20X5 can be no earlier than 2045 (and of course no later than 2095). Of coarse it is also commonly assumed that 20X5 is '85, because that is the centenial of the year the game was under development.
  • Dates placed "circa" (approximately) are estimated to fall within the year or decade given, but may fall any time after the preceding event and probably before the succeeding event.
  • The assumption is made that Fuel Gel is the liquid form of Afloraltite due to the similar appearance of its crystalline form and the close coincidence of the Space Pirates' raids on Fuel Gel mining sites and the raid on K-2L, although both terms are used separately here for the sake of accuracy.
