Tallon Metroids are a variation of Metroid that has been created from developing on Tallon IV. The ones found on Tallon IV seem at first to be smaller versions of Metroids. They are also much weaker than normal Metroids. While a normal Metroid takes five Missiles while frozen to kill, a Tallon metroid only takes one Missile to kill. Tallon Metroids can also be destroyed by physical stress. They were apparently engineered by the Space Pirates for Phazon mutation. Although making them weaker at first, the variants created are stronger than normal one. Tallon Metroids were taken by Space Pirates to Aether. The Tallon Metroids found on Aether are red in color, but are otherwise identical.

Tallon Metroids are a variation of Metroid that developed on Tallon IV.

History

Relocation and Study

Tallon Metroids were first brought to Tallon IV from Zebes by Space Pirates. Their research frigates transported these Metroids to their Research Headquarters in Phendrana Drifts where studies began on their ability to harvest bio-energy.[1]

Differences from Metroids

Differences in Metroid strains appear as a result of development in different atmospheric and ecological conditions.[2]

Tallon Metroids are smaller versions of Metroids.

Morphology

A Tallon Metroid consumes raw bio-energy from its victim using twin mandibles that are connected by means of energy conduits to the core of its quadripartite nucleus.[3] This nucleus replaces the need for any other internal organs, so Tallon Metroids lack a discernible digestive system, sensory organs, or cardiovascular system. The apparent lack of a brain in Metroid physiology may imply that it is equipped with a decentralized nervous system or that the quadripartite nucleus replaces the brain function. The nucleus is contained by a transparent epidermis to which the large mandibles are attached.

Absorbing energy causes a notable increase in size and mass.[4]

Life Cycle

Infant Tallon Metroid

Main article: Infant Tallon Metroid

Hunter Metroid

Main article: Hunter Metroid

Hunter Metroids have an energy draining tentacle for use in battle.

Variants

Fission Metroid

Main article: Fission Metroid

Fission Metroids are no longer vulnerable to cold, they are also capable of splitting into two parts that are vulnerable, hence their name.

Dark Tallon Metroid

Main article: Dark Tallon Metroid

These are Tallon Metroids possessed by the Ing. They are vulnerable to the Light Beam due to their Darkling nature. They are still able to be frozen and killed by the Dark Beam, but it does not cause damage in itself.

Phazon Metroid

Main article: Phazon Metroid

Phazon Metroids are still vulnerable to cold, but are capable of shooting energy bursts and are able to "phase" through objects or shots.
