The Agon Wastes were fertile green plains on Aether until an impact by a Leviathan scorched it into a desert wasteland.[1] It is an area only found in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It houses one of the three Temples that holds the Energy Controller used to help rid Aether of its Dark counterpart. Most of the area is a barren landscape home of many dangerous predators, including Sandiggers, Sandbats, Brizgees, and Lumites. The desert is comprised of small Luminoth Mining stations. A Space Pirate Facility also makes up a portion of the Wastes, where the Pirates appear to be conducting research on Phazon.

Trivia

  • Agon Wastes is the region with the most upgrades in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, with twenty in total.

The green plains of Agon were scorched forever, and the forest of Torvus was engulfed and wracked by the sea. The skies burned for days, casting darkness over the land." —Luminoth Lore (Metroid Prime 2: Echoes)
