This article is about the Metroid Prime exclusive Phazon Suit. For the Metroid Prime 3: Corruption suit, see Phazon Enhancement Device Suit.

The Phazon Suit is a modification to the Power Suit which was created when the Omega Pirate fell on top of Samus and Phazon seeped into her Power Suit. It is jet black in appearance and offers complete protection from Phazon. It is needed to obtain the Artifact of Newborn without taking damage. It is required to enter "Hyper-Mode" and obain the Hyper Beam to defeat Metroid Prime. After Samus defeats the creature, Metroid Prime pulls the suit from Samus in order to save itself by changing form. This leaves Samus in her Gravity Suit and free of corruption.

Trivia

• Ironically, while Phazon is colored blue and white, the Phazon Suit has an opposing color scheme, black and red.
• The Phazon Suit is function very similarly to Corruption's PED Suit. Both offer complete protection from Phazon. Both also harness the substance for their respective Hyper Beam. Both suits are also unstable by nature due to Phazon experimentation. A notable difference, however, is that the Phazon Suit uses energy found surrounding Samus while the PED Suit uses Samus's internal Phazon.
