The Cortex CPU is a room in the Vesper Defense Outpost. It is divided into two sections.

One section of the room acts as a Morph Ball puzzle. Found in this area are platforms that Samus can jump on using Morph Ball Bombs. She can obtain a Missile Expansion by using these platforms.

The other connecting section contains the central processing unit. By using her Scan Visor, she deactivates multiple panels that deny access to the Battlehammer. After this, she rolls to this power-up through a Morph Ball tunnel.
