Torvus Bog is a swamp area that makes up much of Planet Aether in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It is a dark, rainy habitat with little threats in its light Aether version. However, it was a Luminoth section under it that it completely submerged and filled with enemies, much like Metroid Prime's fallen Frigate Orpheon. The area hold a temple with the energy that Samus needs to restore Aether and rid it of its Dark Aether counterpart. The Super Missile and Gravity Boost are aquired here.

Torvus Bog

The normal Torvus consists of rainy swamps and lakes filled with Hydlings. Some jungle-like areas as well as areas with Luminoth structures appear. The Grenchler is a common enemy in these areas, as well as Krocusses, Sporbs, and Shriekers. The area was first known as Torvus Forest, but after the Leviathan devastated most of the planet, water from its oceans flooded the area, turning it into a bog. Under the area is a Luminoth station filled with many dangerous aquatic enemies, such as Bloggs and Blogglings, Hydlings, Preeds, and an Alpha Blogg as a miniboss.

Trivia

  • A few music tracks from Torvus Bog, the overworld theme and the underwater station theme, are remixed tracks from Super Metroid.
