EPG-8702 is the designation of an Elite Pirate in stasis in the Omega Research of the Phazon Mines.
Unlike other Elite Pirates encountered in the Mines, EPG-8702 and EPG-8701, also in stasis in the Omega Research, do not emerge from their stasis tanks to engage Samus in battle. Scan data indicates that they belong to "batch 01," which may indicate that they are among the first Elite Pirates successfully grown to maturity following the initial Project Helix failures.
