Early life

Ghor
Ghor

Ghor was once much larger than what how he appears in the events of Corruption. He lost 94% of his original body in a massive battle to protect the planet Wotan VII.[1] He is considered to be very intelligent and friendly, but this does not change his merciless fighting skills. He has the ability to merge himself with mechanical parts and suits, although the only one that is shown in-game is a large armorsuit. The conversion greatly amplifies his strength as well as his aggression. His voice deeply lowers when in the suit. Ghor uses a variety of weapons, the main one being the Plasma Beam, which Samus later acquires from him in Elysia.

Norion Battle

During the attacks on Norion, Ghor is not seen until Samus Aran deactivates Generator A to initiate the Planetary Defense System and destroy the approaching Leviathan. He appears battling and making quick work of a Berserker Knight and clearing the path to Generator C. He then appears in an elevator leading up to the Main Deck, where Dark Samus attacks the four hunters and allows Phazon to be sent through their bodies.

Phazon Corruption

Ghor in his corrupted armorsuit.

After being sent out to Planet Elysia to destroy the Leviathan Seed, he becomes corrupted by Phazon after misusing his PED Suit. He breaks the power lines that connect Aurora Unit 217 to the Galactic Federation Network. He then ventures to the Landing Site where Samus's Gunship resides and damages it greatly. Him and Samus then engage in a battle while Ghor is in his armorsuit. Samus defeats him, and his remains are taken by Dark Samus, just as Rundas was in Bryyo.

Logbook

Logbook entry from Metroid Prime 3: Corruption: Hunter Ghor
Ghor is a cybernetic Bounty Hunter, capable of merging his body into larger mechanisms. The most common of these is his armorsuit, which doubles as a gunship and provides him with a formidable combat arsenal. The merges are often accompanied by a shift in personality, replacing his normally calm demeanor with an aggressive attitude. He demonstrates a high proficiency with all things mechanical and is often called upon for missions requiring computer infiltration or manipulation.[2]
Limited Scan
Ghor's energy shield is capable of repelling all weapon fire, but the back-mounted generator is exposed to attack. Overloading the generator could expose the well-protected critical systems behind his battle armor. Ghor's arsenal is considerable. Plasma-based beam weapons, attack claws, and a multimissile system are at the cyborg's disposal in battle. These battle systems can be combined and fired at once as a devastating alpha strike. Target is also capable of a high-speed ramming attack, although this is potentially dangerous if performed over a slippery surface.[3]

Trivia

  • While the hunters are in the elevator to the Main Deck on Norion, a hard to notice decrease in Ghor's armorsuit size is visible. This was probably performed simply to fit him in the elevator.
