Zeta Metroids are Metroids which have grown past their Alpha Metroid and Gamma Metroid forms. They are followed by Omega Metroids and, if the Metroid has the proper genetic coding, Queen Metroids. Zeta Metroids attack by firing projectiles and by ramming.
Samus encounters three Zeta Metroids while on her mission to exterminate the Metroids on SR388. She can defeat them by firing twenty Missiles at their head or back.
In Metroid Fusion onboard the B.S.L Research Station, Samus finds a single Zeta Metroid in a stasis tank in the Restricted Laboratory. This one is not battled.
