The Agon Wastes were fertile green plains on Aether until an impact by a Leviathan scorched it into a barren, desert wasteland.[1] It is the location of one the Energy Controllers on Aether, and the first of the Luminoth domains to fall to the Ing.[2]

The desert is comprised of several small Luminoth mining stations. A Space Pirate Facility also makes up a portion of Agon where the Pirates appear to be conducting research on Phazon.

Several large predators, such as Sandiggers, make their home in Agon. It is also the habitat of the weaker Sandbats, Brizgees, and Lumites. The environment is capable of supporting only the most resilient of foliage, such as the indigenous Sandgrass.

In the Pirate facility, Samus encounters a small amount of Space Pirates and Tallon Metroids. Samus also battles Dark Samus, who is stealing Phazon from the Space Pirates, here.
