K-2L is Samus Aran's home planet. K-2L was an Earth settlement. Samus is the only survivor of the attack on K-2L by Ridley and the Space Pirates. After the invasion, Samus is adopted by the Chozo. She then devotes her life to defeating Ridley and the Space Pirates.In the manga, Samus's father was the leader in an excavation for rare minerals to sell, that were native to K-2L.
