Bendezium is an extremely dense material naturally found on Tallon IV that was used extensively by Chozo colonists in their settlements. Bendezium is impervious to Beams and most concussive weapons, but a high-yield concussive blast such as that emitted by a Power Bomb will destroy it. Despite its apparent invulnerability, Bendezium can be weakened by supersaturation of water and microfractures.[1][2]

A similar substance called Denzium created by Luminoth Mechanoids appears on the planet Aether and has comparable properties to Bendezium.[3]

Scan Data[edit | edit source]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime (Weakened Floor)

The Bendezium portion of the floor here is weak.
Structural weakness due to supersaturation of water.[1]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime (Wall)

This Bendezium wall has numerous fractures.[4]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime (Wall)

Analysis of wall shows rampant weakness due to severe water saturation.
Large traces of Bendezium detected.[5]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime (Collapsed wall)

Rotation Control Unit blocked by partial collapse of Bendezium wall.[6]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime (Stasis tank)

Unit ident-code EPG-8642, batch 23, field designation 'Elite Pirate Alpha.'
Stasis tank hull reinforced with Bendezium alloy plates.[7]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime (Grate)

There is clear air flowing from this Bendezium grate.[8]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime (Terminal)

Replacement of standard hatch covers continues.
Steel covers will be replaced with Cordite and Bendezium covers in two deca-cycles.[9]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime (Wall)

Bendezium within wall is unstable.[10]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime (Blast gate)

Microfractures present in Bendezium blast gate.[2]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime (Gate)
Located in: Phazon Mines - Security Access A

Structural integrity of Bendezium gate is low.[11]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime (Shrine)
Located in: Magmoor Caverns - Warrior Shrine

Bendezium portion of area unstable.[12]

Scan Data from Metroid Prime (Tunnel frame)
Located in: Magmoor Caverns - Shore Tunnel

Scan shows stress fractures in Bendezium frame.[13]
