Unlike the Plasma Beam itself, which seems to shoot a beam of lava, the Flamethrower sprays a continuous line of fire, igniting the enemy and causing massive amounts of damage. It is very useful against the Omega Pirate. It is the only charge combo that cannot be used against the Metroid Prime.
Trivia
- A "Flamethrower" appears in Super Smash Bros., although Metroid Prime was not released until three years later.
