Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is the tenth installment in the Metroid series and the final game of the Metroid Prime series. The game was developed by Retro Studios and released for the Nintendo Wii in 2007 and Japan in 2008. Corruption is the fifth game in the Metroid timeline and takes place six months after the events of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The story revolves around Phazon and its corruption of the galaxy.
Story continuity
Corruption takes place some time after the events of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Corruption opens by following the story of Dark Samus after her defeat on Aether. After the events of Corruption, Samus is ordered to eradicate the Metroid population on the planet of SR388. This story is told in the 1991 Game Boy title Metroid II: Return of Samus.
