Beams are a type of weapon that Samus Aran can discharge using her Arm Cannon. The default beam that is used in the start of most Metroid games is the Power Beam, and it can be upgraded via upgrading the Arm Cannon like in most Metroid titles or replacing them like in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. Some beams can be enhanced by obtaining Charge Combos, which can eliminate groups of enemies quicker, but at the cost of five missiles.

The Annihilator Beam is a Luminoth weapon found on Dark Aether. It fires both light and dark energy. It's charge combo is the Sonic Boom.
