Hunter Ing are powerful Ing with a phasing ability that allows them to easily avoid attacks as well as ambush targets. They patrol Dark Aether for enemies of the Ing and are relentless, prepared to seize their prey or die trying.[1] Hunter Ing are the only Ing allowed to possess Pirate Commandos and they will fight amongst themselves for that right.[2] They are also the primary predators of Nightbarbs.[3]

Samus encounters Hunter Ing in multiple areas throughout Dark Aether, usually in pairs. While they do share their weakness to the Light Beam with other Ing, they are easily capable of dodging it.
