Steambots are mechanical creatures that exist on SkyTown, Elysia. As their name suggests, they are steam-powered. They are similer to the Tinbots, but they differ in one key way. When they are destroyed, they fall into a pile, which a Steamlord can repair with ease, at the cost of decloaking and revealing itself. Like Tinbots, they can be destroyed in one explosive shot. Steambots only appear in miniboss battles alongside a Steamlord.

Unlike their lightweight cousins, they are made of durable metals and cannot be thrown around. Steambots serve as combat units for Steamlords. They are armed with kinetic-beam pistols, Missile racks, and can use their tool-arms in close combat. Damaged units can be restored by Steamlords." — Logbook "Steambot" (Metroid Prime 3: Corruption)
