Liftvine Crystals are plants used by the Luminoth in a similar fashion to Light Crystals. When shot with the Light Beam, the Crystal becomes temporarily energized, causing the plant to grow and generate a Safe Zone in the process.

Darkling plantform will grow in height when Crystal is energized by light-based weaponry. The Luminoth used these to navigate during their campaigns on Dark Aether. The Ing ignore the simple plant, as it is not a source of nourishment or a weapon.[1]
